Beth Ann Kerestesi

WATER VALLEY—Beth Ann Kerestesi, age 60, died peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2018, at her home in Water Valley.

Born November 13, 1958, in Chicago, Beth Ann was a daughter of the late Douglas and Virginia Bussell. She worked in consumer retail for Walgreens, and more recently in Fred’s Dollar Store in Water Valley. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, and gardening, but nothing compared to the love she shared with her husband, Joe, as avid motorcyclists.

Beth Ann is survived by her husband, Joe Kerestesi of Water Valley; and two daughters, Terese Czuma and Jaclyn Czuma, both of Chicago.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Karen “Kay” Lawler

WATER VALLEY—Karen “Kay” Lawler, age 74, of Water Valley died peacefully Tuesday, November 28, 2018, in Yalobusha General Hospital at Water Valley.

Born February 1, 1944, in Memphis, Kay was a daughter of the late Auburn and Inez Church. She worked as a bookkeeper until she and her husband, Larry,  bought and ran Lawler’s Grocery in the Sylva Rena Community. She loved her family and donating her time at Sylva Rena Baptist Church, were she had her membership.

Visitation was held Saturday, December 1, from 1-2 p.m. in Sylva Rena Baptist Church. The funeral service followed at 2 p.m. with Dr. Shane Crawford officiating. Burial was in the Sylva Rena Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Lawler (Kim) of Lakeland, Tenn. and David Lawler (Tammy) of Gravette, Ark.; and four grandchildren, Allison, Mattthew, Rebekah, and Hannah.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Larry Lawler, two sisters, Marylyn Gregory and Linda Railes; and one brother, Auburn Church, Jr.
