Blue Devils Participate In Longhorn Football Camp

Staff Report

Three Blue Devil Football players traveled to Austin, Texas to participate in the annual Mack Brown Texas Longhorn Football Camp. Junior offensive tackle/ defensive tackle Rowdy Williams, sophomore long snapper/defensive end Mac Williams, and junior outside linebacker/running back Jarard Smith gave up four days of their summer vacation to learn college football techniques from Head Coach Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorn football coaching staff.

    The staff includes former Mississippi State University Defensive Coordinator Coach Manny Diaz. The young men participated in three-a-day practices and reported that they were worked extremely hard.


Coffeeville Student Wins State Powerlifting Tournament In Meridian

MERIDIAN – Alex Foxx of Coffeeville took home a Gold medal at the Powerlifting Tournament for the State Games of Mississippi Saturday, June 18.

Foxx was the overall winner and received the Gold medal for his 23 pounds weight class and T3 division, lifting a total of 705 pounds.  He was followed by Matt Grier of Oxford who came in second overall and earned the Silver Medal.  

Taylor Dobbs of Smith-ville took home the Gold Medal for “Best Overall Lifter” in the Men’s Open competition.  

Hayden Harbour of Bruce earned a Gold Medal  for “Biggest Deadlift” and Wilburn O’Briant from Maben also took home a Gold Medal for “Biggest Bench.”
